“History and Uses of Computers” London Museum of Science Exhibition Road, Kensington
Students will gain an understanding of the history and uses of computers by exploring one of the world’s most extensive holdings of computer artifacts |

Week 3 July 9 |
“Software development for problem solving – history of ciphers” Bletchley Park
Students will explore the development of early computers (1940s) used for breaking encryption used in WWII. Students will also learn about the early developments in AI. |

“Early post-WWII computing” Manchester Museum of Science and Industry
Students will learn about the construction of the Manchester “baby” – the first stored-program computer. |
